Secondary Student Book of Hope and Leader’s Guide
DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSLATION
While two editions of the Book of Hope are already being used throughout the region of Africa, this new product focuses on three topics that teens identified in our Global Youth Culture report as something they wanted to learn more about: success, forgiveness, and family and friend relationships. Research shows that it’s an excellent time to create this new book to complement the versions of Book of Hope that are already making an impact.
This book seeks to help teens deal with these emerging topics in an ever changing world and also guide them on how to use God’s Word to find answers to life’s questions.
- This book is designed to address these topics in a biblical and relevant way, allowing students to use the Word of God to help change their worldview and reflect on who God created them to be.
- Along with the Book of Hope, a teacher’s guide will also be developed and used across Africa.

Asset Map Research Projects
DEVELOPMENT
Research plays a critical role in the development of OneHope ministry activities. Asset Mapping guides strategic decision-making by identifying ministry opportunities. These findings uncover which Scripture engagement programs, resources, and training best fit the community’s needs.
Surveys include assessing church/ministry activities and programs, digital engagement with children and youth, staffing, training, needs, and obstacles. More recently, regions have customized their focus, including questions about special needs ministry, the impact of the pandemic, and ministry to abused children and youth.
In 2021, we completed Asset Maps in East Africa, the Sahel, and South Africa. Now in 2023, you have the opportunity to support Asset Map projects for the countries listed below.

Africa Secondary Book of Hope
DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSLATION
The Global Youth Culture report has shown that African teens have a growing desire to learn more about navigating success, forgiveness, and relationships. This new Book of Hope will present the same life-changing Gospel as previous African copies of the Book of Hope, but now specifically through the lenses of these topics highlighted in the research.
One of the primary outcomes is that young people will see the significance of being made in God’s image and how that impacts their identity and purpose. A special focus is being given to showing that God is the ultimate source of truth and guidance for life. A teacher’s guide will also be partnered with this product, which will equip African leaders in the ongoing discipleship of their teens.
